4 Days Tour from Casablanca to Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Casablanca – Boulajoul (Near Midelt)

Begin your Morocco desert adventure with an early morning departure from Casablanca. Travel south through Kasbat Tadla and Zaouiat Cheikh while enjoying the scenic transition from plains to mountains. Cross the stunning landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains, filled with cedar forests and Berber villages. Arrive in Boulajoul, a tranquil village near Midelt, where you’ll savor a homemade Moroccan dinner and spend the night at a cozy guesthouse.

Day 2: Boulajoul – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

After breakfast, journey through Midelt, Errachidia, and the spectacular Ziz Valley — known for its palm groves and deep gorges. Stop in Erfoud, famous for its fossils and marble workshops, before continuing to Khamlia village to enjoy the rhythms of Gnaoua music (if time permits). By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, gateway to the Sahara. Embark on a camel trek at sunset across the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi, a highlight of every 4-day Sahara Desert tour. Spend the evening at a luxury desert camp, enjoying dinner, Berber music, and sandboarding under a starry desert sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Dades Valley

Rise early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, depart through Rissani, known for its traditional market and desert charm. Stop at a Berber clothing cooperative before heading to the impressive Todra Gorges, a favorite spot for climbers and photographers. Continue to the scenic Dades Valley, where red cliffs and ancient kasbahs create one of Morocco’s most beautiful landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay at a charming hotel overlooking the valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Marrakech

After breakfast, drive along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Skoura Oasis and Rose Valley. Visit a women’s Argan Oil Cooperative to learn about this traditional Moroccan product. Explore the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and film location for classics like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, making photo stops along the way. Arrive in Marrakech by evening, where your Casablanca to Marrakech via Merzouga desert tour comes to an end.

We reserved a two-day, one-night excursion to Zagora. Our driver was fantastic! He was quite kind and helpful. The minivan was fantastic, and the desert camp was fantastic! The guide in Ait Ben Haddou's Kasbah was very pleasant. The berbers at the camp were quite kind, and the cuisine was delicious. breakfast and supper Everything was beautiful, even the music playing next to the fire. and had a camel ride at dawn and sunset. Prepare some money to tip everyone. It had all been worthwhile! This business comes highly recommended by me.

We planned a four-day trip and were fortunate enough to have Omar as our guide and driver. With two full days in the desert and another two days travelling through the Atlas Mountains and Ouazarzate, the tour was fantastic. Omar was a fantastic tour guide who was both patient and professional. I couldn't have asked for anything more and would strongly suggest this firm to anybody interested in seeing the real Sahara desert!
